Thomas D. Farris was born January 30, 1951, in Amarillo, Texas, and has been a lifelong Amarillo resident. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi from The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. with Highest Honors in 1973 and a J.D. in 1976. Mr. Farris was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1976. He is admitted to practice in Texas state courts, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. Mr. Farris is a member of the Amarillo Bar Association, where he has served as the secretary, treasurer and director. He is also a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Insititute and has achieved the status of Senior Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America. His civic work includes serving as a director for the High Plains Children’s Home and Family Services, Inc. He is a fellow of Litigation Counsel of America and a fellow of the American Academy of Medical Malpractice Lawyers. Mr. Farris is a Barrister in the Order of Centurions and an Advocate in the Order of Certus.
